We don’t have a max capacity sign in our parish hall, and we’re thinking about having an event. We called the fire marshal to come and let us know what our maxcap is. He came yesterday. Today my junior warden presented me with a report detailing 7 violations, a failed inspection, and a requirement to get up to code.

it’s beyond maddening, especially because once in a while, one of the tv shows will take the opportunity to stage an “unexpected” car crash.
One of the hardest things for me to deal with as a priest is this: you put the Christmas service schedule (including only one service today) on the website, in every bulletin for the past month, in every church email that goes out, on the answering machine, and on the doors to the building, and still someone shows up an hour late because they didn’t know it was at 9:00 instead of 10:00.
