I am all for paying people well, but I do start to have questions when a $250 part — the actuator on the charging port lock — takes $300 of labour to repair/replace.

And THEN they're all like: "You haven't had a service for awhile, would you like to do that today?”

If you're interested. The problem was that the charging plugs were no longer being locked into place when plugged in. This did not affect normal L1/L2 charging as locking is not required. But L3 Fast DC chargers will not activate if the lock doesn't engage.

I’m picking up the car this afternoon. Hopefully all is well.

Now that the car is out of warranty I only take the car into the Hyundai service dept if it's something only they can fix, generally anything to do with the electric drivetrain. Regular maintenance (brakes, etc) can be done elsewhere.
