I tried to save a bee yesterday.
Found it on a path, not moving very well and it's wing seems to have been stuck down by some spider web, I assume it almost got caught.
I picked it up and put it in a nearby flowerbed, tried to gently brush the web off it's back but it still wouldn't fly.
It's still on my mind, wish I could have done more. I think next time I will get some sugar water and try to do more.
Can anyone tell me more about how to save them?
@shemjm You did great.
@shemjm, sugar water is a good system, there are several videos from an guy which make friend with several insekts, among other also bees and the process how to do it.
@Catweazle thanks for this
@shemjm white sugar with just a touch of water and in the sun. Or on a nectar rich flower such as a dandelion
@Beedazzled this is where I left the poor little thing but as you can see, it's wings are broken/stuck
@shemjm dafs are not much good for bees and that is a deformed double one so has no accessible centre. I think she may be able to get her wings back right if she warmed up. At least you tried
@Beedazzled I might make a little bee rescue kit that I keep in the car or something
