This past weekend I had a large burn-pile to get rid of several trees worth of branches that have fallen from all the storms we have been getting.
For some reason, my sheep love the ash-pile. I am not sure why.  The ground is cold, as the fire burned out a few days ago.

@elmussol@social.vivaldi.net   I did not know that Olives loved ashes. I have 4 young olive trees I could use the ashes on.  Do you just put the ashes around the base of the tree like mulch?

@adam yes. Don't get them on the trunk (it can burn the bark) and spread about the size of the root ball. Olive roots go wide rather than deep. On a mature tree the root ball will be about the same width as the canopy.

@adam got pics? I'll send you some in return, we are on with pruning at the moment. We have a new set of trees to deal with that haven't been properly done for about a decade or so.
