You mean, "A good day for Ubuntu users"... :tony_laughing: :linux: :ubuntu:

@Vivaldi question: what's the easiest way to switch from my existing Vivaldi to the snap build? Can I export the settings, tabs, etc somehow?

@sil the settings and profile will be stored in a different location than with .deb packages. If you want your old settings you can get most of them via sync, though you set up a few things manually.

@Vivaldi Good for ubuntu users, but the flatpak package ???

@Vivaldi Great!
Although I'm still waiting for the official flatpak package

@Vivaldi oh no, I'm so sorry for the replies you're going to get/have gotten 🙈

@Vivaldi As Ubuntu user, thanks! Now do Flatpak too so you reach all other distros too.

@Vivaldi I run often old machines of limited resources and I find snap and app manager and all of the other non-native code solutions burdensome. I will refuse to use any of them as long as possible. If Vivaldi were to become available only as SNAP, I would have to discard it, and that would make me very sad.

@Vivaldi Great to see a snap package of vivaldi! I hope the package is stable and the community likes it.

@Vivaldi Why should it be called a "good" day? "Disappointing" is a much more fitting attribute here.

Every third-party Snap package that exists is a vindication of Snap itself -- which is a product nobody asked for, nobody really likes and everybody would love to get rid of rather sooner than later.

It makes me really sad that Vivaldi is going this route :( You had such a commendable strong stance against other bullshit technologies like blockchain and "AI", but now you're supporting Snap?!

@Vivaldi Great to see Vivaldi cares about Linux community.
