"So that's the ship."
"That's the ship."
"And it can jump."
"Yes. You'll be in Espass in 18 hours."
It was tiny. Like a fighter without weapons. No bunk, no head, just a seat, an autopilot and what engineers called "flight trunks" and everyone else diapers.
"You know I can't fly it, right?"
"Yes. Autopilot can handle it. We can even sedate you. Or we could still route you on a liner."
"In six days? No."
If this "emergency" was just Adi's caprice...but Rendal knew it wasn't.
