I'm starting to worry about having to block misskey.io, many inappropriate and bizarre stuff keep appearing to me.
@epp offtopic question, but why isn't this instance able to filter languages or translate? I understand it might be complex to implement, but I would like to know how difficult it might be, or if there's any reason to not implement it. Thank you for your efforts in moderating!
@Pedr01gb You can set the languages you don't want to see in Preferences -> Other, but it only works when people correctly label their posts with the language they are using. It's the same with translating. Basically, Mastodon relies on users using the correct language settings to work. If you make a post in, for example, Japanese, but you set your post's language to English, the filter won't work, and it won't be possible to translate it either.
I personally just started to mute people who write a ton of posts without labelling them correctly, I just kept the notifications so that I know when they interact with me. It's not a perfect solution, but it helps you tidy your timeline up when you aren't able to understand a thing out of them anyway.
@Pedr01gb I have seen many posts in foreign languages. Some will display a 'Translate' link on them, while others do not.
As @Ypsilenna mentioned, it's all in the individual users' settings.
