Thinking about #QuoteBoosts...
I just quote-boosted someone's post, as I thought that my followers might be interested in the original post, and interested in my thoughts on the original post.
I deleted my quote-boost, and instead redrafted my thoughts as a response to the original post.
Why?
1. There was no room left for me to tag the original post's author. I wouldn't want them to *not* know I'd quoted them.
2. I was disagreeing with much of what was originally posted. It felt snarky.
1/2
2/2 I will certainly quote-boost others' posts on here, but for now I'll only quote-boost things and not thoughts.
I don't know how best to word that distinction... "Things and not thoughts"...
Images. Music. Jokey memes. Recipes. News, etcetera... I may quote-boost all those things along with my personal opinion - if the original post did not contain someone else's personal thoughts on those things... And if there's enough room to tag the original post's author.
That seems sensible.
