iOS 18.2 is out!
As part of the release, you should be seeing a choice screen in Europe. I hope you will be making Vivaldi your default browser from now on, if it is not already!
The way Apple have implemented this, you will only see the choice screen when starting Safari and only when Safari is the default.
I hope the rest of the world will be given the same choice soon.
@jon already set. I’m very happy with Vivaldi on my iPhone and my Mac.
@jon As soon as you have a working Sync.
We are working on it. It has been working fine for years, but clearly we now have a problem, but we are working on resolving it. Just takes time.
@jon I know, I was just teasing you :)
The timing of Vivaldi 7 mobile and it's "real-time sync" in the PR around it made me do it. :D
More seriously, keep up the good work, for many people migrating from Firefox (and it's bugs/memory leaks especially on Mac) you are the only "good" option (for me at least).
Thanks. Obviously the downtime is unfortunate, but it will be fixed. We are trying to make sure we get it all right during this downtime.
Thanks for your kind words and support!
That is related to an issue with our sync server. We are working on resolving that.
@jon@social.vivaldi.net It is indeed my default browser on all my devices these days. One thing that still bugs me though is that on iOS (I include iPadOS in that) I can't seem to turn off the password functionality of Vivaldi, which interfers with the functionality of my actual Password manager (Proton Pass). No matter if I have the Vivaldi password managent set to "off", it still tries to do its thing, on top of my actual other password manager. Slight annoyance.
Otherwise, thanks for a great product. As I say, my default on all my computers/devices these days.
Thank you for you kind words. We will have to look at that issue you mention. Feel free to report a bug. It makes it easier for us to resolve.
@jon you should also tell about the fun part! I have my vivaldi on iOS sync’ed with my desktop vivaldi & vice versa. All privacy protected by vivaldi. This is the benefit of real privacy and trust work. And that is sooo convenient!
@jon I'd love to default my iDevices to Vivaldi, but my lousy vision needs high contrast white text on black - for the web content as well as the interface. Dark Reader works decently in Safari, could you enable using it?
