50% Are using Linux! :tony_grinning: ❤️

The results are in and the verdict is clear. Survey shows that 50% of those polled are using Linux, 26% are using MacOS, 23% are using Windows and 1% of those polled are not using a computer.

The sample size was 1155 people. The survey was performed on / @Vivaldi Social with the parameters listed below.

Great to see Linux continue to grow and a great turnout for Mac users!

#Windows#Mac#Linux

@jon @Vivaldi I’ve been trying it out again. I’m not a programmer or anything special though. Has Ubuntu but now installing Mint. For the life of me I can’t delete the Ubuntu partitions now though 😂

@jon Okay, all the more reason vivaldi should make an effort to leave its bubble and reach even more Windows users. While I'm looking forward to the iPhone implementation, I sorely miss the current desktop version on my old hardware running Windows 7.

@jon @Vivaldi would be interesting to see what flavours of Linux users have on the desktop these days.
I've recently returned to Linux after several years of windows use.
I got so frustrated, I am now dual booting with Ubuntu and rarely go back now.

@jon @Vivaldi I was drawn to Linux for my home PC, by the choice of different desktop environments to try out. I'm not an IT user, so the command line is useless to me. Usability is important to me. And the desktop environment (now Plasma) has been continually getting better in the 12 years I've been on Linux.

@jon @Vivaldi What about us Windows users? What are we, chopped liver? Gutter scum?
🤔

@fred8615 @Vivaldi , not at all. Just a minority in this particular survey.

@jon @Vivaldi I am not surprised! I feel like Linux is so present in that poll because of the community we're in. Vivaldi instead of Chrome, Mastodon instead of Twitter: both could be seen as going against the status quo. Using Linux instead of Windows would fit perfectly in that scenario.
