@Vivaldi the vivaldi.com/new/ page isnt remembered that it has been shown already. page is shown everytime I open an instance for a profile.
@Vivaldi The entire browser freezing to a halt happened concerningly often since the update.
@vekkq
Is there a specific action after which you notice the browser freezing?
@Vivaldi I did not notice a pattern yet, but it could have to do with `find in page` function (ctrl+f), perhaps during slow page loads. So far I could not replicate it however.
@vekkq
Thanks for the additional info. An issue with Find in Page is known to us and a fix is on the way.
@Vivaldi Get out of the shower and come see this, honey, Vivaldi 7.1 just dropped!
@Vivaldi nice to see that Qwant is also financially supporting Vivaldi now, will give it a try!
@Vivaldi Personally, I am disappointed with the new Vivaldi release 7.1. New weather widget, new blinking here and there ... All well and good. But where is the improvement towards data protection, tracking, fingerprinting ... ? In times of global control, big tech companies, wouldn't it be time to worry about how to make a browser much more secure? How do you really protect your users VERY well against data misuse? It's not just about whether Vivaldi himself spies on his users. It's at least as important that other companies can't spy the users as good as possible! And that's even more important if you use a Google rendering engine, Google changes a lot with MV3 latest by the middle of this year, to the detriment of the users. But unfortunately I don't read any of this in blogs about V 7.1. Very shame! What's about fighting for a better web??? ;-)
@Vivaldi Yay! The other day I was customizing my dashboard and thought that a weather widget would be a nice addition to the layout. Thanks!
@Vivaldi
Grea update! Are there any plans to add something like TabContainers? This is such a valuable Raddon for Firefox. Workspaces is not the same
@cefairon
It is a cool feature, but unfortunately very difficult to implement on top of Chromium.
In Vivaldi, you can use Private Windows or Guest and separate User profiles instead.
@Vivaldi Hey, we're now on the same version number, 7.1!
@Vivaldi I couldn't find info on this, but it seems the handling of the email panel has been improved in 7.1? In previous version, when I would open the email client and later switch to a browser tab, the email panel would stay popped out, taking away space from the browser tab. Now when I do the same switch, the email panel pops back in. I hope further experience confirms this :) If true, this would be great, it's such details that matter!
@Vivaldi I have this weird issue that URLs containing anchor don't work when clicked within a page I'm viewing. If I paste it to another tab as a new URL, it takes me where it should. It can be best tested within a Wikipedia article that has table of contents.
Just tested and it works here.
Check out the troubleshooting suggestions on https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/troubleshoot/troubleshooting-issues/ to see if you can figure out why it's not working for you.
@Vivaldi yeah, it works now. Needed to disable one of my extensions. Phew! Thanks for help!
@Vivaldi Do you plan to officially support Vivaldi on Flathub?
Hopefully we can do it one day. As for why flatpak is not official as of now, you can take a look at this post

@Vivaldi I really like this browser, keep up the great work!
