The reception to Vivaldi Social has been unreal. :tony_happy: So many people of different nationalities and groups. We're overjoyed to have you all here! :tony_smiling:

The Japanese community seems to have been especially quick to join us here. ようこそ、参加ありがとう! :tony_wee:

To show everyone how cool Vivaldi users from Japan are, we'd like to share with you a story about Popogami Po and his marvelous set up for a keyboard only Vivaldi Browser experience!

vivaldi.com/blog/power-user-po

Vivaldi BrowserPower user Popogami Po chooses Vivaldi for keyboard-only browsing and more. | Vivaldi BrowserIn our latest user story, we meet a heavy Vivaldi user from Japan to find out why they love the browser and how they use it.

@Vivaldi To be fair the featured user uses a specialized keyboard which can simulate the mouse. It’s still impossible to operate Vivaldi with keyboard alone :/ Even heavy custom Javascript modification of the UI doesn’t bring you there, tried it all.

Congratulations on the release again, it’s a good initiative. Hope many more people will take advantage of Vivaldi Social :tony_wee:

@Vivaldi The fact that it's a decentralised network and that ambiguous way of being connected to other entities but disconnected at same time makes it the perfect ecosystem to be "our personal network"; faster than the forum and more connected regarding people than Telegram.

A way of communicating that you enjoy doing it, especially among Vivaldians. :tony_happy:

@Vivaldi Yes, Jon!! It's a pity Opera Unite did not take off, but maybe it can work with Vivaldi?😎

@Vivaldi please enable the translate post funcionality, some other instances have it

@athosmoreno We'll look into the functionality Mastodon offers.
In the meantime, if you use the Vivaldi browser you can highlight the text, right-click on it and select "Translate selection".

@Vivaldi @athosmoreno is there someway to make auto detect function well?

@FallCheetah7373 @Vivaldi oh

yeah when i tested it kind of didn't worked for me too

@athosmoreno @Vivaldi manually picking languages worked like charm except for few hiccups/bugs here and there but those are kind of only happen 20% of time

@FallCheetah7373 @athosmoreno Automatic detection works for longer texts. With short posts, you'll indeed have to select the language yourself.

@Vivaldi
Po, is a power user, indeed...
I couldn't imagine doing all that, much less, from just the keyboard...

@Vivaldi coming from a centralized Twitter world a server from a company you trust and which you also trust in having the technical expertise to maintain it was a big pro to making the step towards mastodon. Thank you!
