@AlanHicksLondon I read the translation (which seemed good) and tbh I think his optimism is misplaced, the European center left seems to be pandering to the right and the center seems intent on austerity which will lead to people struggling even more, this dynamic is perfect for fascist populism. On the other side of the equation the US has proven that money not only talks, but can buy countries. And the rich are not only motivated, but now see that putting their money towards oligarchy is good for them.
The European left is weak and indecisive, and has very little initiative to do anything, they’re mostly intent on yelling at others.
So unless there is a new groundswell… I’m afraid we’re at the beginning of a fucking terrible decade.
